Reading LogThe expectation for the Reading Log is to read for 20 minutes 4 nights during the week. It can be any four nights. If a student misplaces their Reading Log, simply write on any piece of paper the nights they read, the title of the book, and the amount of time spent reading. Any time over the 20 minutes will earn them classroom points.

Math LogOur weekly Math Log is downloadable here. Your child is on a self-guided pace. Each time they pass a level they will increase. On the back of the webpage I usually provide a copy of the upcoming timed test, any practice at their current level will work for the middle box.

They should have their login information. If not, please email me and I'll get it for you. Bounce Pages is the mobil app that you can download for free from iTunes or from an Android app store. Bounce Pages allows your child to watch a video that is connected with their homework. Scan the page with the app and you should be set!

Summer Fun!
Summers are meant to be fun! I hope everyone of my students has a great summer, but I also hope that they continue to work hard and learn over the summer. It's easy to say that we will do something (learning) over the summer, but all of a sudden it's August and nothing has really been done. Take advantage of the time and make a plan. Remember the saying from Benjamin Franklin, "If you fail to plan, you are planning to fail." Build a daily routine or a weekly routine. Reading for at least 15 minutes each day. Math practice for 15 minutes each day. Make a plan and try to be consistent. That doesn't mean that things won't come up or days won't get skipped. It just means that you have a plan and you have your children stick to it as much as they can. Don't let the summer slide take hold of your child. Begin to make a plan now and it won't seem as daunting.
Here are a list of ideas for the summer:
Reading:
* Read each night for at least 15 min. (If your nights are busy, have them read in the am or during a time that works for your family.)
* Plan a weekly visit to the library. Hanover Library Link Monday/Tuesday open until 8.
* Get invested in a book series. The Lemonade War is just the first of a good series!
* RAZ-Kids is a great site for your child to build their reading skills. Please let me know if you need any information. Slovell2 is the teacher name that you will need at first.
* Lexia.com some students will have access to this site over the summer.
* Join or form a book club with other students.

Math:
* Multiplication Facts!!!!!!!! Spend time reviewing math facts. It will be time well spent.
* Prodigy.com is a great math site. I'll leave it open for the students for the summer and I'll add new work for them as the summer moves along.
* Greg Tang Summer Challenge: I sent this activity home and it will be attached to this thread.
